Praise and Prayer Requests

This year has been like no other in our lifetime. We have learned to do more ministry remotely. Barb’s continued recovery from her broken ankle and Dan’s back issues have been a challenge. These things remind us of our mortality and dependence upon the Lord.

  • Praise that despite the pandemic, during the first three quarters of 2020, SonSet Solutions assisted 139 ministries in 55 countries via equipment, service, consultation, training, and partnership development.
  • Pray for Dan as he works to improve computer security at SonSet Solutions. Like most organizations that use the Internet, we regularly experience numerous attempts to disrupt our ministry through attacks on our website or through email.
  • Pray for Dan as he works with the Communications Department to develop a new website to better represent the ministry of SonSet Solutions to partners and supporters.
  • Pray for Barb as she encourages children who were in her Happy Day clubs. Since the COVID-19 restrictions do not allow for in-person meetings, Barb and others are using the mail to communicate with the children.
  • Pray for Dan as he undergoes back surgery in November to relieve pain from pinched nerves. Pray that the surgery is successful and that he is able to return to his work at SonSet Solutions soon after.
  • Pray that Barb’s broken ankle will continue to heal from the surgery she had in February. Although she has near complete mobility, she is still experiencing some pain.

Preparing SonSet® Radios for Ministry

Barb has been helping test, program, and pack SonSet radios for shipment to partners in Peru, Uganda, Guinea-Bissau, Malawi, Sierra Leone, and Burkina Faso. Through the generosity of our donors, the Lord has provided the means to send these radios even in the midst of the pandemic.

Pray for the individuals who will hold these radios in their hands and hear the words of life. May they come to saving faith in Jesus and find new hope for every day.

We are Thankful

Although there have been many joys and challenges these past months, we praise the Lord for taking care of us and providing for us through His people.

We are grateful for everyone who supports us in our work at SonSet Solutions as we seek to provide technology-based solutions to advance the Gospel worldwide. Your partnership with us helps bring hope and joy around the world.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the ministry of SonSet Solutions as we deal with travel restrictions around the world.
  • Ask for wisdom for Dan as he makes plans for the SonSet Solutions Information Technology department.
  • Pray for continued healing and a full recovery of Barb’s ankle.
  • Pray for guidance in finding relief for Dan from pain caused by back issues.
  • Pray for wisdom for us as we decide what trips we should take this fall and summer to visit family.

Merry Christmas!

We began our Christmas celebration in November when we spent a week with our daughter Jenny and family in Mexico. Dan had a fun time decorating their Christmas tree in summer-like weather with Grandsons, Landon and Ian.

One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the growing church where Oscar and Jenny minister. They have a thriving congregation with young families, and the morning service was filled with enthusiastic music and a practical, Bible-centered message. We were encouraged to see how the Lord is working in Mexico.

We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas as we rejoice in the birth of our Savior who brings salvation to all who put their faith in him.

“I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10, 11 NIV

September 2019 Family News

Dan is assisting with some Wi-Fi projects for partners and has started research into solar energy systems for use in underdeveloped countries. He spends a good part of each day keeping the 70+ computers and network running at the SonSet Solutions office.

Barb is ministering in three local elementary schools with afternoon Bible clubs. She is also involved with women’s Bible Study Fellowship and Friends of the Elkhart Public Library.

Emily and her husband, Cody, are expecting their first child in December. Cody is a SonSet Solutions engineer developing water pump monitors.

Jenny and Oscar continue their ministry in Queretaro, Mexico, where they are involved with discipling new believers and training church leaders.

John and his wife, Katie, are living in Indianapolis. John is enjoying his work at Old Gold Barbecue, and Katie is a stay-at-home mom who cares for their toddler who is changing and growing by leaps and bounds.

We praise the Lord for the many blessings He has brought into our lives. Our prayer is that we would remain faithful in serving Him with hearts of gratitude.
